The anxiety disorders are also known as avoidant personality disorders. This pathology is characterized by completely unmotivated sense of anxiety, avoidance of social contacts, inferiority complex, the fear of negative evaluation, the high needs for extraordinary physical security.

This induces a person to avoid these situations, as meeting with them would cause a panic attack. Some types of this disease provoke in patients manifestation of specific phobias (social anxiety disorder, agoraphobia, acrophobia, entomophobia, arachnophobia, etc.).

The group of anxiety disorders includes generalized anxiety disorder. It is characterized by a constant painful anxiety, with no relation to the specific situation or object.

The obsessive-compulsive disorder often runs in a chronic form, in this case the intrusive and frightening thoughts intersperse with intrusive actions, used to reduce the level of anxiety.

The post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is accompanied by the painful memories and prolonged feeling of fear after experience of the traumatic situation.

Depressive anxiety disorders are classified as a mixed type of the disease and involves the symptoms of anxiety and depressive disorders.

How to get rid of anxiety disorders?

Treatment of anxiety disorders requires the patience and professional approach, or serious self-help work. If a patient is diagnosed with anxiety disorder, it is necessary to provide a complex therapy. For the drug treatment the tranquilizers, antidepressants, sometimes atypical antipsychotics are used. As a usual, the drug treatment is combined with the breathing exercises and muscle relaxation. Psychotherapeutic methods include the behavioral therapy, in particular, desensitization. Also the cognitive-behavioral therapy, psychodrama, hypnotherapy, auto-training and psychoanalysis can be helpful.
